The Lexington Park Lions Club brought the magic of Christmas to life with their heartwarming holiday initiative, “A Weekend with Santa.” Partnering with the Little People Child Care Center at Jarboe Educational Center, the Lions Club created an unforgettable experience for local children and their beloved stuffed animals.

The initiative began with a touch of holiday excitement as the children dropped off their favorite stuffed animals, which were then whisked away to the “North Pole” for an enchanting weekend with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The stuffed animals enjoyed activities such as feeding reindeer, napping by the fire, eating cookies with Mrs. Claus, and even listening to Santa read from the Naughty and Nice List. To everyone’s delight, all the stuffed animals were on the NICE list!

While the stuffed animals “visited” the North Pole, the dedicated “Elves” of the Lexington Park Lions Club worked tirelessly to capture the magical moments in photographs. These cherished photos were then compiled into personalized booklets for each child, highlighting their stuffed animal’s weekend adventure.

When the stuffed animals were returned to their young owners, they came bearing gifts! Each child received their personalized booklet, a sheet of wrapping paper used by Mrs. Claus herself, and a special note to parents. The surprise and joy on the children’s faces truly encapsulated the spirit of the season.

This initiative was a success thanks to the dedication and teamwork of our Lions Club members and our collaboration with the Little People Child Care Center.
